In college I started a group that would purchase tickets to big events (concerts/sports) around the country and would sell them on eBay to make a couple bucks here and there. It was nice, but never paid more than enough to buy a few drinks and wings at The Coney.

Over time my knowledge of the tickets industry expanded but my activity didn’t. The main thing that I learned during this time was that a lot of resale ticket brokers try to capitalize on huge markups to big events. There wasn’t a single site on the market that tried to help the fan get the best prices possible for each game.

The way these sites work is simple. They have brokers who offer their tickets for sale at “X” dollars. The resale site will then mark the brokers price up an extra “Y” percent (think around 20%). So the more dollars you spend the more coin that resale site will make! My thinking was, why not tell the consumer how to make smart purchases so they can save nearly 50-75% off resale ticket prices.

With saving well over half off resale ticket prices in mind, I created the site http://www.eSellOut.com . Those huge markups have been eliminated and here is the key to saving a ton of cash the next time you want to see a Taylor Swift concert… If you want to go to a Sunday concert that is say a couple weeks away and a ticket with a face value of $75 is selling for $200, hold off on buying till the Wednesday or Thursday (2-3 business days) before the game. You will notice the price of tickets drop immensely. How low? To the point where you often can find tickets at less than face value!

How are tickets less than face value? Because many of the brokers selling tickets for the game live far away (a broker selling an Event in say the New York area may actually live in Houston or Seattle for example) and has zero chance of attending the game but they would much rather at least get something for the tickets than nothing at all. I figure a happy customer who just saved a lot of money would be more likely to come back and also tell their friends about eSellOut.

With that said, even I still have to buy my own tickets from the brokers selling on my site but to this day I have never paid more than face value for an event! Jonas Brothers Gossip: New 3D Concert Movie, Taylor Swift

Hey Jonas Brothers fans. Im Joslyn for Clevver.com coming to you from our studios in the heart of Beverly Hills. The Jonas Brothers are taking their talent to the third dimensionwell, not exactly. Apparently the Disney boys filmed two of their concerts last summer that will be released as a 3D movie version on February 28th! The Jonas Brothers movie is just one of several other 3d movies making a splash in theaters in the coming months. Movie theaters will be charging an additional 2.50 for the high-tech tickets that they hope will bolster sales. If the Jonas Brothers sold out concerts are any indication of what movie tickets sales will be like, I think its safe to say that this 3D movie is destined for success.

Most recently the Jonas Brothers have been busy touring and being seen with various teen beauties. Just a few weeks ago, Taylor Swift made her extreme dislike of ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas public knowledge when she talked about how he allegedly dumped her in a 27 second phone call. Their little feud has fans wondering if she will be cut from the Jonas Brothers film. According to the films executive producer Douglas C. Merrifield, As of now, Taylor is still in the movie. As of now??? By that answer, I think we can all take it that they have discussed cutting her from the movie and still possibly are. What do you all think? Should Taylor be cut from the movie?

Either way, Id be shocked if this flick isnt a huge hit come February.

Rock band U2 have played a surprise gig on top of BBC Broadcasting House, in central London.

A crowd of around 5,000 watched the rooftop show, which capped off a day of promotion for the Irish band’s 12th studio album No Line On The Horizon.

U2 had been special guests on BBC Radio 1 and rumours of the gig appeared on internet message boards during the day.

The band performed four tracks during the 20-minute gig, including new songs Get On Your Boots and Magnificent.

Bono told the crowd: “This is a great honour. This is the first time we’ve played these songs to people, so we hope we don’t screw it up.”

U2 also performed Beautiful Day and Vertigo, as onlookers danced, clapped and sang along in the street below.

The BBC’s Darryl Chamberlain, who was at the scene, said: “Some people tried to crowd on to traffic islands to see them… the crowd was screaming and cheering.

“Others were spilling out of pubs and shops to see it, and looking out of windows. It was a good natured crowd and people really seemed to be enjoying it.”

Police closed Portland Place in Westminster to divert traffic away from the area.

The band all wrapped up against the cold, except The Edge who wore a short-sleeved lumberjack shirt and hat.

The performance was also broadcast live on DJ Chris Evans’ BBC Radio 2 show.

U2’s impromptu gig echoed The Beatles’ 1969 rooftop performance at record label Apple’s London headquarters.

Earlier the band revealed they are preparing to tour later this year, and hope to offer tickets with cheaper, recession-busting prices.

Frontman Bono told BBC Radio 1’s Jo Whiley they had “something very special planned” for early summer.

He added that it was “a whole way of trying to do shows outdoors and make them very intimate”.

In an interview on Radio 5 Live with Simon Mayo, Bono said that he had “gone off” Get On Your Boots a few weeks ago, but was now “back on it”.

“It’s a small song, a tiny little song, a little shot of adrenalin,” he added.

Another song from the album, Breathe, had its live debut at an intimate Radio 1 concert on Friday morning.

Bono told the audience: “This is a great honour. This is the first time we’ve played these songs to people, so we hope we don’t screw it up.”

He said they were “trying” to work on some cheaper ticket prices, but added: “We’re also going to have some very expensive ticket prices because rich people have feelings too!”

Radio 1 also apologised on-air immediately after Bono used an expletive to describe Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin.

The BBC said it had received no complaints about it.
