I bought my boyfriend yankees tickets (4-6 game) for his birthday and I have never been to the stadium before. We live in pennsylvania and are not sure how to go about getting to the stadium, any good restaurants in the area, that sorta thing. Parking in the stadium is not an option because it is like $80-100 per spot..ridiculous..im wondering what we should do– maybe drive to jersey take the ferry over and then the subway??

anyone know?
when i bought the tickets they told me about the parking prices, i think they said 83 or 113 i dont member

Kinda depends on where in PA you are coming from. I recently relocated from NY to Philly and i’m going to the game on April 5th and my route will be simple…NJ Turnpike to George Washington Bridge to 87 South (Major Deagan). However…I was NOT aware the parking prices are that much. I knew they were jacked up for the bigger games like the last week of the season.

Why not park somewhere in the Bronx near a subway station and take the 4 in? Restaurants…there are bars around the stadium but you can’t really sit and eat and they will be packed before, during, and after the game. You could drive into Manhattan for something to eat or Drive north on 87 into Yonkers. Search online for restaurants in Yonkers. Just be prepared to sit in some traffic on 87 either way.

**Edit** My 4/5 tickets were purchased by my girlfriend as a gift. Cool.

I have been to a Yankees game before and you should definitely drive to NJ then take the ferry and then the subway. The only thing is that there is no ferry in NJ you have to drive to Staten Island then take the ferry from there to Manhattan. After that take the subway all the way to the Bronx. There is a stop for the Yankee Stadium so you will be right there. Don’t waste your money in the parking lot you’re right. I think you should just eat from the food there because they have plenty of stands and their food is GREAT! I loved their food. They had hot dogs, ice cream, etc. If you or you boyfriend have a baseball glove I would bring it because there will be a lot of balls coming into the crowd.
    I hope this helps.
    Enjoy the game :)

Just in case you already read this I will put it at the bottom. I don’t think there is a ferry in NJ so if I were you I would just drive up to Staten Island.

I don’t know where in Pennsylvania you are, but if you’re anywhere near Philly, take the train up and leave the car at home.

There are ferries from New Jersey to New York, but you have to go to Jersey City, Hoboken or Weehawken to get on them, and they cost a bundle. Public transport the whole way is your best bet, especially with what gasoline is costing these days.

I don’t know about those parking prices. I’m sure they raised them a little last year, but it cost us I think 13 bucks to park in stadium parking last year. The most we have paid in the years we go is 20 bucks. I would be absolutely surprised if the raised it to 80 bucks. I would look into that.
