East Anglian Storytelling Festival

Fri 14 Jun, 2019

Blackbourne Community Centre, IP30 9UH

14th, 15th and 16th June 2019

We are proud to present the 5th East Anglian Storytelling Festival. Join us at Blackbourne Community Centre in Elmswell this June where there will be something for everyone whether they be lifelong fans of storytelling or completely new to this wonderful art form.

The 3-day Festival takes place from the 14th to the 16th of June and will showcase the best of storytelling from throughout the region and beyond. Special Guest storytellers this year include Sef Townsend, Hugh Lupton and Liz Weir MBE, from Northern Ireland, who will be telling alongside local tellers from Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex.

Storytelling is a tradition as old as we are. Stories serve to teach, to warn, to touch our darkest souls, our breathless hopes, our compassion, our best selves and our moral compass.
Stories can bring us to tears or to laughter. Whether we are young or old, stories take us out of ourselves into another world, where anything is possible, and anything might happen!

In the evenings the stories turn more adult, our tellers will fascinate and intrigue, and may be a little unsettling.

If you haven’t yet been immersed in the magic of oral stories – this is your chance. If you have, you’ll
definitely want to be with us!

Pre book now as prices shall be more expensive on the day!
